Dr Aman Sood has a keen interest in research, with a current focus on sports-related injuries of the AC joint (where the clavicle, or collar bone, meets the highest point of the shoulder blade; acromion) and management of acute shoulder injuries.

After graduating from Flinders University in 1997, Dr Sood obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 2008. He then undertook specialist post-fellowship training in upper limb surgery with the highly respected Dr Mark Ross in Brisbane, before visiting a number of recognised centres of orthopaedic excellence in the UK, France, Switzerland and Italy. His research has won awards both locally and nationally.
