Description
Children and teenagers with poor focus and organisation, complicated by emotional disregulation and sleep disturbances, are often told they do not try hard enough at school and miss out on potential timely achievements. Their adverse food habits are often overlooked until they are adults. Their social awkwardness is interpreted as quietness.
Adults, who are concerned or curious about their symptoms of attention deficit, hyperactivity, impulsivity, poor sleep, disordered eating and misuse of alcohol, caffeine and substances, gambling and excessive spending, often struggle to function in their various roles at work and home and find that their performance and development have reached a dead end. Social discomfort may produce further self-blame, despair and lack of confidence.
