ASAPS has been one of the peak bodies for cosmetic surgery in Australia and New Zealand for 40 years. We represent 300 comprehensively qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeons in the region. Why is it important to choose a surgeon we recommend? Because anyone in Australia and New Zealand with a six-year medical degree can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon. As a consumer, this exposes you to a huge range of doctors with extremely varied surgical training and experience.

ASAPS can offer the guidance you need to choose a surgeon with outstanding cosmetic surgery experience and appropriate qualifications. ASAPS Members have eight to 12 years of specialist surgical training beyond their medical degree. Surgeons with this level of training are easy to identify because they have FRACS after their name.
